Sotmagazine vs Vogazine

Update on our local competitors that started out with an eMagazine just like us! But now, im not too sure where they are heading...

Updates on Sotmagazine

Sotmagazine.com just converted itself into a normal portal!! I believe they are becoming like DIGG but a simpler version. There are CMS that does that like WORDPRESS and PLIGG. Hmm..i think it will be difficult for them to compete against the big boys in YAHOO that is also doing website “magazine” content and many similar others around the whole internet universe!

Updates on Vogazine

Vogazine.com, surprising thing I saw of their update “date” was 15th April 2008 but the makeover news is still the same. No new articles since end of 2007. Are they building a secret weapon?

It seems that sotmagazine now wants to do things similar to vogazine and who knows, maybe vogazine would become like sotmagazine? =)

Stay tuned...

With our Uploader...NOW YOU CAN!

We have been seeing hits coming from google with "create emagazines" so we have been working hard to be able to let the community create our fantastic interactive emagazines for free!

Since we are at our beta stage, we are giving out FREE creation of emagazines using our uploader! Simply by following our easy 7-steps instructions below.

1. Start to create your pages (vector based preferable : Flash, illustrator, Freehand, etc) with the intial setup as 750px for width and 550px for height. (72dpi photoshop ,25 fps flash).

2. Simply save your files as 1.swf or 1.jpg to represent your first page, 2.swf or 2.jpg for your second page and so forth. This is how our engine know which page comes first.

3. For Cover, set up as usual but draw a rectangle (404px width, 550px height) that represents your cover and align it to the RIGHT edge of your canvas. Design your cover within that rectangle and finally save it as cover.png (only png allows transparent background) or cover.swf. Ensure that the canvas is transparent when saving.

4. For your Back Cover, set up the same way but align it to the LEFT edge of your canvas instead

5. You are almost done! Create an "exclusive" account at www.onezine.com/uploader and upload all your pages and covers there. (If you make any mistake on your files or file-names, you have to delete off that file from our server and re-upload again.)

6. Give us a day or two to set up your magazine for you and we will email you the HTML code that you can use it to embed into your own blogs, websites and social profiles! Adjust the width and height of the HTML code to suit your own preference!

7. Subsequently for your next issue, simply re-upload your new issue files up through our uploader in the same manner. (Yes, you have to delete away the previous issue pages, email to us if you want to keep your previous issue). Once you have updated your pages, all those with your current issue will automatically update itself!

If you love what we do and want to support us, we want you as our affiliate partners! You can then create a main account and create emagazines for your customers and charge it to them at any rate you want! All you need to do is to cover us for our hosting and bandwidth charges.

But for now, its entirely free so that we can have a successful beta test!
Feel free in emailing us (enquiry@onezine.com) if you have any queries at all!
